FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops encourages Catholics across our country to enter into the two weeks leading up to the Fourth of July (June 21 to July 4) with a strong focus on prayer, education and reflection on our freedom of religion, There have been many threats to this First Amendment right over the history of our country and it continues today. Resources and reflections about this freedom and the threats against it can be found on our diocesan website: www.dioceseofcleveland.org/freedom  Finally, as the Fortnight For Freedom concludes, everyone is invited to participate at Mass with Bishop Lennon on Friday, July 4, at 10:00am at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.

It’s the highlight of summer, everything that your family needs for a great family day. For more information, go online to: www.theFEST.us

BECOME A HOSPICE VOLUNTEER

Hospice is a philosophy of care, not a place. We care for patients wherever they call home. Volunteers are a vital part of our team; they come from all walks of life and have a variety of skills, talents, and abilities. Opportunities to serve are diverse, from running errands to meal preparation. Volunteers with special training are always needed: attorneys, licensed hair dressers,

Summer is the time of year when many are involved in outdoor activities and travel. We wish everyone a safe and relaxing summer, and we also remind everyone to participate at Mass each weekend, even when traveling.

We also remind everyone of their obligation to support our parish. As we continue to be challenged financially, we need everyone’s support. So on the weekends you are not here, please make up for your missed offerings. I bring this up as a friendly reminder because many in the parish will be away next weekend in Baltimore for the Lithuanian Dance Festival. Wishing you all a safe trip!

                                                                       God Bless! Fr. Joe Bacevice

MONTHLY EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Friday, July 1st, we will have our First Friday Holy Hour of adoration in the Church from 8:00-9:00am. On Wednesday, July 13th, we will have our monthly Eucharistic Adoration in the church from 6:00-9:00pm. We invite everyone to spend some quiet time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. For those able to make a commitment to spend time in prayer, we ask you to sign up for a specific time. The sign-up sheet is located in the main entrance to the Church.

HOLY FATHER

This weekend we are accepting offerings for the Holy Father. Known for years as the Peter’s Pence Collection, this offering supports the charitable work of the Holy Father throughout the world. Please be generous.

SUMMER OFFICE HOURS

During the summer months and until September 11th, our office will be CLOSED on Fridays. Church activities (Mass, funerals, wedding rehearsals and other activities) will not be affected. To serve the business needs of the parish, our office will be open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00noon, and from 1:00 until 6:00pm. Please follow these hours for all non-emergency matters.

HELPERS NEEDED

We are looking for a few good people to help keep our parish running smoothly. First we need additional ushers who can greet people when they come to Mass, take up the weekly collection, and act as “first responders” when someone needs help in Church. We’re looking for ushers for all the Masses, but the need is greatest at the 12:00 noon Mass on Sunday. We are also looking for adults who would be available to serve funerals. If anyone is interested in being a church usher or a funeral server, please contact Father Bacevice.
