March 28 - 29, 2015

Today marks the beginning of the most solemn week of the Church year - Holy Week. During this week are called to remember and reflect on our Lord Jesus’ days of Suffering, Death and Resurrection.

All of us are invited to walk with our Lord, from His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, His gift of Himself in the Eucharist at the Last Supper, His trial, suffering and death, to His triumph at His Resurrection.

I invite everyone in the Parish to participate in these special moments in Jesus’ life. Taking the time to commemorate these events serves to deepen our appreciation for the gift of salvation, deepen our relationship with Our Lord, and deepen our commitment to be His faithful followers.

                                                                   God Bless! Fr. Joe Bacevice

 THANK YOU

Once again this year we thank Ruta Degutis for her generous donation allowing us to decorate the church with live palms. The donation is made in loving remembrance of her sister, Birute Vedegys.

BLESSING OF FOOD

One of the most beloved traditions of many Eastern European cultures, including our own, is the blessing of food for Easter. We have observed this tradition since we opened at St. Casimir’s six years ago, but it seems that each year, fewer people are coming for the blessing. This year, we invite everyone in the parish, especially our families with children to experience this annual blessing. Father Bacevice and Deacon Pecek will conduct the blessing on Saturday, April 4th , at 12:00 noon.

OFFERING FOR THE HOLY LAND

On Good Friday, April 3rd, we will take up a collection to support the Holy Land. Money collected provides support to maintain the sacred places in the Holy Land and provide for the needy living there. Please be generous.

THANK YOU TO THE ALTAR SOCIETY

We thank our Altar Society for purchasing four new Communion Cups which are used at our weekend Masses. We will use them for the first time on Holy Thursday and on Easter Sunday.

COFFEE SOCIAL

Sunday, April 12th, everyone is invited to participate in a family-style Coffee Social after the 10:00 Mass. All parish families are invited to bring of plate of honey cake/cookies to the lower hall and to share the Easter season spirit (and your goodies) with your fellow parishioners.

SING JOYFULLY UNTO THE LORD!

“Come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.”
(Ps 95)

Would you like to sing in the St.Casimir Parish choir, but haven’t joined yet? The 10:00 Mass choir will be rehearsing for Easter on Tuesday, March 31st at 7:00pm in the choir loft. If you’d like to sing with us - even just once for Easter - come join in the rehearsal. All are welcome!

YOUR EASTER OFFERING:

Easter has been a traditional time for parishioners to make an extra gift to the Parish, we ask everyone to consider a substantial gift to the Parish this Easter. Our winter expenses were very high and our Church offerings are down from last year. We need everyone’s generous support to help us meet our operating expenses and make improvements to or campus. Please be generous with your Easter Offering.

ALTAR SOCIETY PLANT SALE

Spring is in the air! Time to start planning your garden and ordering your flowers and vegetables through the Altar Society’s annual plant sale. Order blanks will be available beginning next weekend. We look forward to your support!
