COFFEE SCHEDULE

The 2017 10:00 Mass Coffee Schedule is being prepared. We invite all organizations and parish families to host these coffee socials. We are always looking for new people to serve as hosts. The parish provides the coffee and supplies; you need only to bring the baked goods, put on the coffee, be a good host and clean up afterward. To volunteer contact Dalia Armonas (jarmonas@sbcglobal.net) Loretta Gudenas (lgudenas@yahoo.com /216-481-0465) or Ingrid Civinskas (icivinsk@yahoo.com / 440-838-0652).

CHRISTMAS WAFERS

Traditional Christmas Wafers are available at the main entrance to the Church at Mass times, in the lower hall after the 10:00 Mass and at the Rectory during the week. We encourage everyone in the Parish to participate in this ancient Eastern European tradition.

 CALENDARS

Our 2017 Church Calendars are now available. We thank our friends and fellow parishioners at the Jakubs Funeral Home for providing them this year. They are on the tables in the main lobby of the Church building.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE:

The Campaign Director for 40 Days For Life - Cleveland/Painesville writes: Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2016 Fall Campaign of 40 Days For Life. God blessed the Fall Campaign and 872 babies, mothers and families were spared from abortion, including six from Cleveland/Painesville, and 8 abortion workers experienced a conversion and quit their jobs. Over the nine years of 40 Days For Life, there have been 12,668 babies lives saved from abortion, 141 converted abortion workers, and 75 facility closures. We look forward to praying with you in the 2017 Spring Campaign, March 1 through April 9. God Bless You!

RETROUVAILLE WEEKEND

Someone once said “marriages are made in heaven, but they sure took a lot of work on earth.”  Have you become so distracted by outside pressure that you neglect your spouse? The Retrouvaille program can help you put your troubled marriage back on track. This program is supported by the Diocese of Cleveland and it is open to couples of all faiths. The next Retrouvaille weekend will be on January 20-22, 2017. A registration fee is required to confirm your reservation. For more information or to register, please call Marce or Liz Gliha in complete confidence at 440-357-6580, or 800-470-2230. For additional information, go to: www.helpourmarriage.org

Today marks the beginning of a new Liturgical Year and the beginning of Advent. Advent is the time of year that we are reminded to prepare ourselves for our Lord’s coming. The Scripture readings of this season tell of the different times in our faith heritage when the people were waiting for deliverance, longing to be with God. As the writers of Scripture reflect on a sinful past, they encourage repentance as a condition for deliverance.

This season reminds us to reflect on our past, make efforts to make things right in our lives and to eagerly wait for our own deliverance.  As we look forward to the Coming of the Lord, let us wait with patience, love, repentance and forgiveness.

God Bless!   Fr. Joe Bacevice

REMEMBER IN YOUR PRAYERS

We ask you to remember in your prayers the following who have died and were buried through our Parish: Baldamero Rivera and Barbara Valtman. May they have eternal rest in the peace of God’s Kingdom.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Friday of this week, December 2nd is the First Friday of the December. We will have our monthly Eucharistic Holy Hour from 8-9 am. Our evening adoration will be on Wednesday, December 14 from 6:00-9:00pm. We invite everyone to spend some time in quiet prayer before our Eucharistic Lord. If you are able to commit to a specific time of adoration, please sign up on the lists in Book Room.

GIVING TREE

Our Holy Name Society is again sponsoring a Giving Tree to assist families in our own Parish who are in need of “a little help” at Christmas. This year, the items on the ornaments are various gift and food cards in denominations of $10 and $25.  Simply choose the ornaments you want, purchase the gift cards, and return them either in the collection basket, at the Rectory or give them to any member of the Holy Name Society by December 11th. They will be distributed to the families before Christmas.

LITHUANIAN LINENS

The Altar Society thanks Mrs. Juodišius and Mrs. Rociūnas for donating linens.

CHRISTMAS FLOWER DONATIONS

The Altar Society decorates the church each Christmas with live flowers. Your current envelope packet has an envelope marked “Christmas Flowers.” Please help decorate the Church by making a donation for Christmas flowers.
