Last
Friday, January 15TH was my 44TH ordination
anniversary. I was able to spend some time over the past few days
reflecting on those 44 years of service as a priest in our diocese.
I’ve had many different duties over the years such as being the Master
of Ceremonies for the late Archbishop Lyke and serving as the
Presbyteral Convener for the Central East District of the Diocese for 3
years. Other duties that I continue to have are serving as Defender of
the Bond at our Diocesan Tribunal for almost 38 years, being a board
member of our Diocesan Facilities Services Corporation for 10 years, and
have been on the Diocesan Building Commission for nine years. During
the past 44 years I have served in 5 parishes and spent 6 months in Rome
studying. I have been involved in ethnic ministry for more than 40
years serving the Lithuanians here in Cleveland along with the Hispanic
community at St. Francis in Cleveland. As I look back over these years,
I do so with gratitude for the great experiences I’ve had, the people
I’ve served, along with the hope that I’ve made a difference in people’s
lives. I have many great memories of friends and acquaintances I’ve had
and look forward to the years ahead where I can continue having the best
job in the world. Over the years many have thanked me for my service,
and now I have to thank you for all you have shared with me.
God
bless!
God bless!

PLEASE PRAY
We
ask you to remember in your prayers the soul of
Irena Laurinaitis who died
recently and was buried from our parish..
May he live forever in the blessedness of God’s heavenly Kingdom.
OFFERING ENVELOPES
Many members of our parish –
if not all – have not received their January-February envelope pack. The
problem lies with the Postal Service. Until your envelopes arrive, place your
offering in an envelope marked with your name and if you know it, your envelope
number.
ONLINE MASS
Our weekly online Mass is
back. Beginning this weekend, Sunday Mass can be accessed beginning on
Saturdays at 4:00 pm. Go to our website and click on the Mass link. We would
also like to hear from our online congregation. Comments – good or bad – can be
sent to Father Bacevice’s e-mail along with
any requests for special prayers. Father‘s e-mail:

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY
Monday, January 18TH
is Martin Luther King Day, honoring the man who worked his whole life to bring
racial equality into our country. The racial tension in our country last year
reminds all of us that there is so much more that has to be done to make the
dream of racial equality a reality. Let all of us commit ourselves to work to
make this happen.
INAUGURATION DAY
Wednesday, January 20TH,
Joseph Biden will be inaugurated the next President of the United States. Given
the civil unrest over the past two weeks, we pray that this will be a peaceful
day. One of the hallmarks of our democracy is the peaceful transfer of power
from one administration to the next. Whether one is a Democrat, Republican or
Independent, it should be our prayer that president-elect Joseph Biden be an
effective leader for the next four years, and that God may bless and protect him
and our nation.
CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY
OFFERING
This weekend we are accepting
offerings to support Catholic University in Washington, DC. Located in the
heart of the nation’s capital, Catholic University of America offers graduate
and undergraduate courses in more than 180 academic programs. By giving to the
National Collection, you will help support more than 6,000 students who are
seeking a faith-filled education at an institution that supports cutting-edge
research in multiple fields. Your investment will enable the University to
continue to support the Church and to advance its work of preparing the next
generation of leadership, both religious and lay, of our Church and nation.
Thank you for your generosity.
DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE
LEGAL PROTECTION
OF UNBORN CHILDREN
Friday, January 22ND
is the 48TH Anniversary of the Supreme Court decision to legalize
abortion in the United States – Roe vs. Wade. The Bishops of the United States
declared that this is the special day of prayer for the legal protection of
unborn children and a day of penance for the violence of the dignity of the
human person committed through acts of abortion. Remember to take time on this
day to pray for the end of this evil in our world and perform some act of
penance in reparation for the sin of abortion. You are invited to participate
at Mass at 7:30 am Friday morning here at St. Casimir’s.
LATIN AMERICA - EL
SALVADOR OFFERING
The Latin American Collection
will take place on January 23-24, 2021. This is the only appeal made by the
Diocesan Mission Office for the Cleveland Latin American Mission in El Salvador.
It is the main support for two Diocese of Cleveland priests who work in the two
parishes served by our Mission Office. This appeal also makes a contribution to
the Collection for the Church in Latin America that is managed by the US
Conference of Catholic Bishops and benefits projects and the formation of
seminarians, religious and lay leaders in 23 countries across Latin America.
Please be generous.
