Saint
Casimir Parish
February 7 - 8, 2015
The 2015 Catholic Charities
Annual Appeal actively
begins in our Parish this
weekend. I ask you to read
over the insert with this
weekend’s bulletin which
explains the importance of
Catholic Charities in our
community.
This year’s appeal
theme is: “Open your
heart to live joyfully and
generously!” Catholic
Charities in our diocese
continues to mission of
Jesus by responding to those
in need through an
integrated system of quality
services designed to respect
the dignity of every person
and build a just and
compassionate society – a
society that stands united
in its support of the “least
among us.”
Something wonderful
happens when we unite
ourselves through Christ
with others. Each year,
Catholic Charities impacts
the lives of over 399,000
people from every suburb and
city in Northeast Ohio. Its
programs and services help
to meet the daily needs of
our most vulnerable brothers
and sisters. Please consider
a generous gift to the
Catholic Charities 2015
Annual Appeal, and please
pray for the success of this
important Appeal.
As in the past, the
in-pew commitment process
will take place next weekend
(February
14-15). All who have
not received the mailing, or
have not had a chance to
respond to it, will be asked
to consider making a
generous pledge to support
the ministries and services
provided by Catholic
Charities.
If you have received
the mailing, please respond
to it. Our parish goal is
$11,856.00. For more

ST. CASIMIR’S FEAST
On
Sunday, March
1st,
we as a parish will celebrate the Feast of St.
Casimir, patron saint of our Parish and of
Lithuania. On Sunday,
March 1st,
we will celebrate one Mass (bilingual) for the
entire Parish at
10:00am.
For those unable to participate at this Mass, we
will celebrate our
Saturday
evening Mass at
5:30pm.
After Mass, we invite everyone to our Upper
Hall (gym), where brunch will be served. Tickets
to the brunch and program will be available for
sale next weekend: after the weekend Masses at
the main entrance of the Church, in the Lower
Hall after the
10:00
Mass and at the rectory during the week. Adult
tickets are $10 and children 12 and under are
free. Only 200 tickets are available, so we urge
you to purchase them early.
We encourage everyone in the parish to come
together to celebrate our heritage and our faith
and share these gifts with each other. |
HELPERS NEEDED
We
are looking for volunteers to help with our St. Casimir Day
celebration. We will need help setting up
on Saturday and cleaning up on
Sunday, along with help with cooking and serving
food. If you are willing to help us, please sign up in the
Book Room.
Also, on Monday, March 9th,
we will be hosting all the parishes in Collinwood for our
Lenten Cluster Mass. After the Mass, everyone is invited to
our Lower Hall for food and fellowship. We need volunteers
to bake, set up and clean up. Those willing to help out,
please sign up in the Book Room or contact Steven Matas at:
rmatas5132@aol.com
or call
216-524-3242.
ROOTED IN FAITH
We
are pleased to report that we received our quarterly
distribution of $4,236.00 from the Rooted in Faith Campaign.
30% of the money we raised for this campaign is given back
to us. So far, our parish has received $35,476.00 from the
campaign. This is also a reminder to those who have made
pledges to send a payment on your pledge. (Your pastor
mailed his check last week.) If you were unable to donate
during the campaign and would now like to make a pledge to
this campaign, contact Father Bacevice. |
