IN CASE YOU HAVEN’T NOTICED
Every
year at Easter, we make a short announcement
thanking the Altar Society for their work in
decorating the Church. That announcement was in last
Sunday’s bulletin.
This week, we want to express our thanks to them for some
things they did that many may not have noticed: the
Altar Society donated the cost of the Pascal candle
($183.40), paid to have the carpeting in the
sanctuary cleaned ($510.00), and made up the
difference between what we collected and what we
spent on flowers ($136.50). So this year at Easter,
they have donated at total of $829.90 to the parish.
The Altar Society relies on everyone’s continued
support of their two major yearly fund-raisers–
“Soup for the Soul” and the Spring Flower sale - to
raise money for projects for the Church.
And a very special thanks to Kęstutis
Civinskas for volunteering and restoring the hand on
our statue of the Risen Christ. His donation of time
and materials is priceless.
So often silent work goes unnoticed. We are truly
fortunate to have committed individuals and
organizations who care about our parish and work to
make it better. |
TWO MORE WEEKS TO ORDER YOUR PLANTS
Just
two weeks left to place your flower and vegetable
orders from the Altar Society’s annual plant sale. Order
blanks can be found at the entrances to the church on the
bulletin tables. Take home an order blank and look it over
to see which plants you would like to order. Orders
will be accepted until Sunday - April 17. Return
your order in the collection basket, drop it off at the
rectory or mail it back. Support your parish and beautify
your yard. It’s a win-win!

Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated on the Second Sunday of
Easter when, in the light of Christ’s resurrection, we are
reminded of His great mercy for us and our call to be
merciful to one another. On this Sunday we are reminded to
ask God for His mercy, be merciful to others, and strive to
completely trust in His Son, who is Divine Mercy Incarnate.
The message of mercy is that God loves us – all of us,
no matter how great our sins. He wants us to recognize that
His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call
upon Him with trust, receive his mercy, and let it flow
through us to others. It is a message we can call to mind
simply by remembering A–B–C.
A – Ask for His Mercy.
God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, asking
forgiveness for our sins and asking him to pour out His
mercy upon us and the whole world.
B – Be Merciful to Others.
God wants us to receive His mercy and then extend His love
and forgiveness to other, just as He does.
C – Completely Trust in Jesus.
The graces of God’s mercy are dependent on our trust in Him.
The more we trust in Jesus, the more we will receive
Pray for mercy and extend mercy to others. Begin each
day saying: “Jesus, I trust You!”
God Bless! Fr.
