February 21 - 22, 2015

The past few weeks and been extremely cold and snowy. We are doing all we can to clean the snow and ice from our property, but we remind everyone to use extreme caution when walking and driving on our property at this time of year. The very cold and snowy weather is dangerous especially to our older members. Though we try to keep our buildings warm and comfortable, some days the cold exceeds the capacity of our heating systems especially in the Church building.

We remind everyone to use common sense when making a deci-sion to come to Sunday Mass during this time of year. God does not expect the impossible from any of us. When the weather is extremely cold or snowy, many of our older members should not risk going out.

Also, because of this extreme weather, our energy costs are very high now. Last month, to heat the Church and Rectory buildings was over $2,000.00, and with this cold weather, the next bill will be even higher. So it is important for everyone to keep current in making their offerings to the Church. For those who are able, please make an extra generous contribution to our heating fund. Helping each other we will all soon be enjoying the warmth of spring.

                                                       God Bless! Fr. Joe Bacevice

CATHOLIC CHARITIES

Due to the record setting cold temperatures experienced last weekend, you may not have had the opportunity to participate in the In-Pew Weekend for the Catholic Charities Annual Appeal, but there is still time to open your heart to give joyfully and generously this weekend. The Catholic Charities Annual Appeal represents the chance for all Catholics to make a significant pledge, payable in installments, to Catholic Charities in order to support its mission of a society that stands united in its support of the “least among us.”     There is joy in giving and there is joy in serving. Over 399,000 people from every suburb and city in Northeast Ohio benefit from Catholic Charities programs and services each year. Please consider a generous gift to the Catholic Charities 2015 Annual Appeal, and please pray for the success of this important Appeal.

Many parishioners have received a letter from Bishop Lennon requesting their support. If you have not received this letter, please respond to the in-pew commitment process today! If you have received the mailing, please respond to it. There is a box on the in-pew envelope to indicate that you have responded by mail. For more information see:www.catholiccommunity.org/2015Appeal

After Mass, we invite everyone to our Upper Hall (gym), where brunch will be served. Tickets to the brunch and program will be available for sale next weekend: after the weekend Masses at the main entrance of the Church, in the Lower Hall after the 10:00 Mass and at the rectory during the week. Adult tickets are $10 and children 12 and under are free. Only 200 tickets are available, so we urge you to purchase them early.
