FALL FUND RAISER

Our Sixth Annual Clambake/Steak Roast/Autumn Raffle will take place on Saturday, October 22nd, beginning after the 5:30 Mass in our upper hall. Raffle tickets are now available at the back of the Church. All parishioners are asked to pick up their envelope with Raffle tickets, as this will save us the cost of mailing them to everyone. Dinner tickets will be available after Labor Day. In addition to great food, there will be plenty of refreshments, a basket auction, split raffles and sideboards. We invite everyone to participate in the fund raiser to support our parish.

We are also looking for volunteers to help with this project. Set up, clean up, bakers, and other volunteer positions need to be filled. Please sign up in the Book Room to help us out. We look forward to seeing everyone on October 22nd.

PROGRAM BOOK

Again this year, we are printing a program book for our Fall Fund Raiser. Parishioners, Parish Organizations, and businesses are invited to advertise or send their greetings showing support for our Parish. An ad can be placed for as little as $5. Ad forms are in everyone’s ticket envelope and additional forms are available at the back of the church. Everyone is invited to participate.

I am pleased to announce that our parking lot repairs have finally been completed. Before the winter snows, parking spaces, both regular and handicapped, will be painted.

Because of the damage we didn’t see in the beginning, we had to replace much more concrete that we originally planned which increased the cost of the job about $16,000 more than we planned. So I ask those who are able to make a special extra donation to help us cover this cost to please do so.

I don’t usually single out individuals to thank for their help, but in this case, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Anthony Minkunas for his supervision over this project, and his advice and encouragement to bring this project to a successful conclusion. I would also like to thank Louis Drasler for his work in writing the specifications for the project. Both men volunteered many hours to this project to make sure it was done correctly. Thank you!

Completing a project like this shows what we can do as a parish community if we all cooperate and work together. We are planning additional repairs and improvements and as the plans develop, we will keep everyone informed.

We were left a beautiful church complex to use for our activities and to worship God. It is up to us to be good stewards and to make the improvements necessary to leave the buildings to those who come after us so, that our parish can continue to serve the needs of Lithuanians and Catholics who will come after us.

                                                              God Bless! Fr. Joe Bacevice

PLEASE PRAY

We ask you to remember in your prayers the following who have died and were buried from our Parish: Nijole Mazelis, James Simoncic, Richard Hrobat, and John Koehlke. May they have eternal rest in the peace of God’s Kingdom.

HELP NEEDED FOR FLOOD VICTIMS

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has asked all parishes in the country to assist those who have suffered from the recent floods in Louisiana. 60,000 homes have been severely damaged or destroyed, 20,000 people have been rescued from floods, and over 106,000 people have applied for federal aid. Immediate and long term recovery needs are placing a tremendous burden on both public and private resources. Money collected will support the humanitarian efforts of Catholic Charities USA and will provide support to the Catholic dioceses affected by the flooding.

We will take up a Second Collection at all the Masses next weekend for this purpose. Checks should be written to St. Casimir Parish and marked Louisiana Flood Collection. Please be generous.

ATTENTION PARISH ORGANIZATIONS

We are updating our Parish Organization Page on our website. We ask heads of organizations to check their organization’s information on our website (www.saintcasimirparish.org) and report any needed additions, deletions; submit pictures or additional information to Amanda Muliolis (atmuliolis@gmail.com) Heads of organizations are asked to visit our website and their page frequently and update information on a regular basis. This way, everyone in the parish will know of your activities.
