NEW CANDLE STANDS - THANK YOU!

Take a minute to light a vigil candle or stop to pray at one of our shrines and take notice of our new candle stands. These beautiful candles stands were handcrafted by Remigijus Belzinskas and match the woodwork in the sanctuary. A heartfelt thank you to Remigijus for donating the materials and volunteering his time and talent. You will find the candle offering slot on the upper left side of each candle stand. Large candles are $3 and small candles are 50˘.

 CATHOLIC COMMUNICATIONS CAMPAIGN

This weekend we are accepting donations for the Catholic Communications Campaign. Your offerings help communicate the Gospel through Catholic social media activities and enriches our faith through podcasts, television, radio and print media. Half of all proceeds remain in our diocese and support local needs. Please be generous.

PROGRAM BOOK

Again this year, we are printing a program book for our Fall Fund Raiser. Parishioners, Parish Organizations, and businesses are invited to advertise or send their greetings showing support for our Parish. An ad can be placed for as little as $5. Ad forms are in everyone’s ticket envelope and additional forms are available at the back of the church. Everyone is invited to participate.

PASTORAL COUNCIL

We are looking for a few good people to run for a seat on our Pastoral Council. This year we will elect four members to the Council.  Application forms are available in the Book Room. Applications will be accepted until October 30th. Any member of the parish, age 16 and older, with a few exceptions, is eligible to run for a seat on the Pastoral Council. We invite you to seriously consider serving on this important council in our Parish.

CATHOLIC RADIO:

AM 1260 The Rock, Cleveland’s Catholic radio station invites everyone to three days of local programming. The upcoming fall Spirit Drive, October 12-14, is an on-air fund raiser to keep Catholic Radio on the air. To donate, call 216-227-1260

MINISTRY TO THE INCARCERATED

Many of those who have a loved one or a family member incarcerated experience isolation, shame, guilt and an overwhelming sense of being alone. The LEAF Ministry has been formed to support them. Groups meet monthly, offering an opportunity to those who come to listen and share community, network, and learn from others who understand their situation, challenges, fears and emotions. All are welcome to participate irrespective of faith affiliation. Groups meet all over our diocese. For more information, contact Father Bacevice or visit their website: www.leafministry.org

Wednesday, November 2nd, is the Feast of All Souls, the day we remember our dead. The three traditional All Souls Day Masses will be offered at 7:30am (English), 12:00 noon (English) and 7:00 pm (Lithuanian). Following the evening Mass we will have the traditional Lithuanian All Souls procession and prayers for the dead. We invite the families who have lost a loved one since last November 2nd, to participate in the commemoration. An All Souls Day envelope is included with the offering envelopes with space to include the names of the dead you want to be remembered in the Masses.

In addition, All Souls Day candles which can be inscribed with the name of the deceased you want remembered will be available at the Rectory. These candles will burn for 5 days beginning on November 2nd. The donation for the All Souls Day candle is $5. We invite everyone to participate in this commemoration.

                                                              God Bless! Fr. Joe Bacevice

PLEASE PRAY

We ask you to remember in your prayers the soul of Alicemarie Egan who died last week and was buried from our parish. Alicemarie was a member of our Finance Council. May she have eternal rest in the peace of God’s Kingdom.

 FALL FUND RAISER

Our Annual Clambake/Steak Roast and Autumn Raffle will take place on Saturday, October 22nd beginning after the 5:30 Mass in our Upper Hall (gym).

Ticket returns: Have you made your ticket returns yet? Tickets were mailed to everyone who did not pick them up at the back of the Church. Additional tickets are available in the Church or the Rectory. Donation for tickets are $1 each or a book of 12 for $10. Our goal this year is to sell 1,000 books of tickets. If everyone does their part, we will be able to meet this goal. Buy your lucky tickets and support your parish! It’s a win-win!

Dinner tickets: Clambake/Steak Roast tickets are now available at the back of the Church after the weekend Masses and at the Rectory during the week. Dinners are $35, and extra clams - $10/dozen. Dinner tickets must be purchased by Sunday, October 16th. No tickets will be available at the door.

Volunteers needed: We are looking for volunteers to make this day a success. If you are able to help out, please sign up at the main entrance to the Church.

THANK YOU

We thank the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association for their recent $1,000 donation to our parish to help offset the cost of parking lot repairs. May God Bless you for your generosity.
