CATHOLIC WAR VETERANS
As
Memorial Day approaches, our Catholic War Veterans Post 613 prepares to have
its annual Poppy Distribution. This activity enables the Post to continue
their welfare programs for our veterans and their families. They will be
distributing poppies and accepting donations after all the Masses the
weekend of May 26-27. Please be generous in supporting their work.
CHURCHYARD CLEAN UP
Now that spring is finally
here, we are having our Annual Yard Clean-up on Saturday, May 26th,
beginning at 9:00am. If you can help out, please sign up at the main
entrance to the Church. If you have gardening tools, please bring them.
MEMORIAL DAY
Monday, May 28th is Memorial Day.
Again this year, our Catholic War Veterans Post 613 will have their annual
Memorial Day commemoration here at St. Casimir, beginning at 8:30am
with a service at the Freedom Memorial in our Neff Road parking lot,
followed by Mass. The commemoration will conclude with breakfast in our
lower hall. All are invited.
JOIN THE HOLY NAME SOCIETY
Our Parish Holy Name
Society appreciates your support. Each year we sponsor The Giving Tree
during the Christmas holidays. We help set up, cook and clean up the Parish
Pancake Breakfasts. Every summer we organize and pay for an annual picnic
for all parishioners. We also helped initiate and continue to support the
evening Eucharistic Adoration on the second Wednesday of the month. Consider
becoming an active or supporting member by joining the Holy Name Society.
You can use the envelope in the May offering envelope pack. Dues are just
$5/year, and we meet the last Wednesday of the month at Hope House. Please
join us!
LITHUANIAN CULTURAL GARDENS
The
Lithuanian Cultural Gardens Committee cordially invites the Lithuanian
Cultural Gardens members and those who would like to join to their annual
picnic on Sunday, June 3rd, at 12:00 noon at the Beachland
Pavilion at the end of East Park and Dorchester Roads on Lake Erie. New
members and supporters are invited to attend.
CATHOLIC CHARITIES
Next weekend, May 19-20,
we will be participating in an impor-tant follow-up Parish Appeal for
Catholic Charities. Funds to expand treatment and prevention services to
fight the opioid crisis that has a grip on our families and friends. In
2017, nearly 1,200 people in our diocese died of drug overdoses. With your
help, Catholic Charities will be able to expand their reach and provide help
and hope to those suffering from addiction. All gifts returned in the In-Pew
envelopes next weekend or donated online at
www.Catholic-Community.org/Challenge
will be matched up to $100,000. Prayerfully consider the impact you can have
and please give as generously as possible. Contact Karen Joyce at
216-696-6525, ext. 1910. Thank you for making a difference.
