THANK YOU FOR THE ALTAR FLOWERS

We thank Ingrid Civinskas for her donation for altar flowers this week. The flowers are in honor and remembrance of her parents, the late Helene and Vincas Samatauskas.
The Altar Society always welcomes your donation for altar flowers. When arranging for a Mass offering or on some other special occasion, consider making a donation for flowers. Order forms are always available on the bulletin tables.

FINANCE COUNCIL NEWS

Remigijus Belzinskas has been appointed to a three year term on our Parish Finance Council. The Finance Council primarily advises the Pastor on financial and legal matters, assists in preparing and keeping within budgets, helps assure compliance with all diocesan, and civil laws regarding employment, record keeping, and reporting financial data to the diocese and parishioners. He joins our other member of the Finance Council: Aura Jucaitis, Patty Campbell, David Oligny and Josephine Namwepo.

PASTORAL COUNCIL NEWS

In January, five new members will join our Pastoral Council. During the month of October, we solicited applicants to join the Council. If more than four applied, there would be an election. Three applicants surfaced: Mary Ann Pecek, Faye Roth, and Debra Zeledonis. The Pastor will appoint two members. They will join Ted Kowalski, Anthony Bacevice, Loretta Gudenas, Maureen Anderson, and Maria Santana. We thank them for their commitment to the Parish and their willingness to serve.

CHRISTMAS FLOWER DONATIONS

The Altar Society decorates the church each Christmas with live flowers. Your current envelope packet has an envelope marked “Christmas Flowers.” Please help decorate the Church by making a donation for Christmas flowers.

CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Many American families are struggling to make ends meet but the struggle is even more difficult for the nearly 40 million Americans who have been living in poverty. Across the nation the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) offers solutions by supporting the poor and low-income in acquiring affordable housing, fair wages, and access to health care and vocational training. Your continued support helps fight poverty in America and defend human dignity. Please be generous in supporting this important work of our Church. We will be accepting donations for CCHD next weekend.

LITHUANIAN LINENS

The Altar Society decorates the church for various occasions. We have a very small number of Lithuanian linens and would like to have a bigger inventory. If anyone has such linens collecting dust in a drawer, Society members would be happy to accept them and use them as needed in decorating the church.

As the Jubilee Year of Mercy draws to a close this month, all of us are reminded of the special gifts of God’s Mercy we have received. During this past year, there have been opportunities for pilgrimages to designated locations to experience God’s mercy, extra opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, as well as revised and simplified procedures for marriage annulments so that people could return to the Sacraments. It is my hope and prayer that as many people from our parish as possible have made use of the special blessings of this Jubilee Year.

There is one more opportunity to participate in this Jubilee Year and experience the blessings of this year. A Cleveland Divine Mercy conference to celebrate the close of the Year of Mercy will be held on Saturday, November 19th at St. Basil the Great Church in Brecksville. The day will begin with Bishop Roger Gries celebrating Mass at 7:30am, followed by inspiring speakers who will address the fruitfulness of the Divine Mercy message, and will close with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3:00pm. Admission is free. $12 covers breakfast and lunch. Attendees are asked to register by calling 1-800-462-7426 or visiting TheDivineMercy.org/Cleveland.

God Bless!   Fr. Joe Bacevice

REMEMBER IN YOUR PRAYERS

Remember in your prayers the souls of Joseph Stoner and Alfonsas Nevulis who died last week and were buried from our Parish. May they have eternal rest in the peace of God’s Kingdom.

THANK YOU

Those who use the rear entrance to the church from the Marcella parking lot may have noticed the new railing by the entrance door. Having it in place will make it much safer to climb the two steps to go in the door. We thank Antanas Minkunas for planning and paying for this project. May God bless you for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

HELP FOR VICTIMS OF HURRICANE MATTHEW

We have been asked by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops to accept offerings for the people and the Church impacted by Hurricane Matthew. In times of tragedy, the Church is always a primary source of healing and peace. However, in this case, the Church itself is both an aid responder and a victim. Many of the Church’s structures have been damaged and their resources depleted making it more difficult to provide aid and pastoral outreach to those in need. We will accept donations for this cause next weekend. Please put your donation in an envelope marked “Hurricane Matthew Relief” and put it in the collection basket. Checks should be made out to St. Casimir Parish.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Join us for our Pancake Breakfast in our lower hall after all the Masses this Sunday. Tickets at the door are $7 for adults (age 14 and up) and $4 for children (age 5-13). All proceeds will be given to the Parish.
