Saint
Casimir Parish
April 13 - 14, 2018 m.
Today marks the beginning of the most solemn week of the Church
year – Holy Week. During this week we are called to remember and
reflect on our Lord Jesus’ days of suffering, death and finally His
Resurrection.
All of us are invited to walk with our Lord, from His triumphal
entry into Jerusalem which we remember today, His gift of Himself in
the Eucharist at the Last Supper on Holy Thursday, His trial,
suffering and death on Good Friday, to his Resurrection on Easter.
I invite everyone in the Parish to participate in these special
moments in Jesus’ life. Taking time participate in these events
serves to deepen our appreciation for the gift of salvation, deepen
our relationship with our Lord, and deepen our commitment to be His
followers.
God Bless! Fr. Joe Bacevice |
OFFERING FOR THE HOLY LAND
On
Good Friday, April 19th, we will
take up a collection to support the Holy Land. Money collected provides
support to maintain the sacred places in the Holy Land and provide for the
needy living there. Please be generous.
BLESSING OF FOOD
One
of the most beloved traditions of many Eastern European cultures, including
our own, is the blessing of food for Easter. We have observed this tradition
since we opened at St. Casimir’s nine years ago, but it seems that each
year, fewer people are coming for the blessing. This year, we invite
everyone in the parish, especially our families with children to experience
this annual blessing. Father Bacevice will conduct the blessing on
Saturday, April 20th, at 12:00 noon.
YOUR EASTER OFFERING
Easter
has been a traditional time for parishioners to make an extra gift to the
Parish, and so we ask everyone to consider a substantial gift to the Parish
this Easter. Our income from parishioner donations continues to decrease
each year and we are facing some expensive repair projects this summer. So
please be generous with your Easter Offering.

LAST
CHANCE TO ORDER YOUR PLANTS
Last
chance to order your plants from the Altar Society. Orders will be
accepted until Tuesday, April 16. Return your order
form together with your payment to the parish office either through the
collection basket, the mail, or drop it off at the rectory by the due date.
Support your parish and beautify your yard. It’s a win-win! Questions? Call
Jackie Taylor at 216-509-0401.
A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE
When Jesus died, Mary grieved
alone. Most friends and followers fled to safety except for a few
acquaintances. We have friends and neighbors who have lost a loved one and
feel alone in their grief. Resist the urge to avoid them. Even when we don’t
know what to say, we can comfort them in their sorrow by just listening and
compassionately being with them.
HONEY CAKE/GINGERBREAD
COFFEE SOCIAL
Sunday,
April 28th,
everyone is invited to participate in a family-style Coffee Social after the
10:00 Mass. All parish families are invited to bring of plate of honey cake
or gingerbread cookies to the lower hall and to share the Easter season
spirit (and your goodies) with your fellow parishioners.
