GIVING TREE
Our
Holy Name Society is again sponsoring a Giving Tree to assist families in our
own Parish who are in need of “a little help” at Christmas. This year, the items
on the ornaments are various gift and food cards in denominations of $10 and
$25. Simply choose the ornaments you want, purchase the gift cards, and return
them either in the collection basket, at the Rectory or give them to any member
of the Holy Name Society by December 11th. They will be
distributed to the families before Christmas.
LITHUANIAN LINENS
The Altar Society decorates
the church for various occasions. We have a very small number of Lithuanian
linens and would like to have a bigger inventory. If anyone has such linens
collecting dust in a drawer, Society members would be happy to accept them and
use them as needed in decorating the church.
COFFEE SCHEDULE
The 2017 10:00 Mass Coffee
Schedule is being prepared. We invite all organizations and parish families to
host these coffee socials. We are always looking for new people to serve as
hosts. The parish provides the coffee and supplies; you need only to bring the
baked goods, put on the coffee, be a good host and clean up afterward.
To volunteer contact Dalia Armonas (jarmonas@sbcglobal.net)

Thursday of this week is Thanksgiving Day, the holiday
set aside each year for us to pause and give thanks to God for all that we have.
Too many times we allow ourselves to become critics and complainers. It seems
that we can always find things to criticize in our society and in our Church.
On Thanksgiving Day, we are reminded to look beyond the problems and
difficulties and look at what we do have. Even our poorest people have a place
to live and food to eat. We have access to health care and we have a voice in
our government. As people of faith, we have much for which we are thankful. We
are free to practice our faith and we have a loving God who watches over us.
On this Thanksgiving Day, let us all take time to offer a prayer of thanks
to God for all the gifts we have received. Let us also remember those who have
less than we do. Let us renew our efforts to help everyone improve their lives
so we can continue to grow as people and as a society of justice, of peace and
of love.
One of the best ways we can offer thanks is to worship together as a
community. On Thanksgiving day, I invite everyone in the parish to gather
together for the celebration of Mass at 9:00 am and to give thanks.
God Bless! Fr. Joe Bacevice

THANK YOU
We thank all who came down to
our lower hall to enjoy the pancake breakfast held last Sunday. There were 110
who purchased breakfasts. After expenses, $561 was raised for the parish.
Special thanks to those who set up, cleaned up, and cooked for this fund raiser.
God Bless all of you.

The Altar Society decorates
the church each Christmas with live flowers. Your current envelope packet has an
envelope marked “Christmas Flowers.” Please help decorate the Church by making a
