Don’t miss out on Sunday, August 6th as we come together for The FEST from 12:00 to 10:00pm at the Center for Pastoral Leadership (28700 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe). There is plenty of free close-in parking, plenty of affordable food thanks to Executive Caterers and Marc’s. There is something for everyone at the FEST The day concludes with a beautiful outdoor Mass at 8:00pm followed by an incredible American Fireworks display. RETROUVAILLE

The next Retrouvaille weekend – “A Lifeline for Troubled Marriages” – will be September 8-10. Has your marriage become unloving or uncaring, has your relationship become cold and distant, are you thinking about separation or divorce? Are you already separated but both you want to try again? Then the Retrouvaille (rediscovery) program may help. The program is supported by the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, but open to couples of all faiths. It consists of a weekend experience for couples and six follow up sessions. A registration fee of $150 is required to confirm your reservation. For more information or to register, contact Marce or Liz Gliha at 440-357-6580 or 1-800-470-2230, or go online to www.helpourmarriage.org

It’s hard to believe that in a few weeks many of our children will be returning to school. For me, it’s a time to plan our religious education program for the coming year. Parents really are the first teachers of their children and are the best teachers of their children. Faith and values are taught in the home from the an early age. Children learn these primarily by imitating their parents faith and values.

As they begin school, children should be receiving formal religious education. Those who send their children to Catholic school receive religious education as part of the school’s curriculum, but those attending non-Catholic schools should be receiving their religious education through their parish. Since we opened as St. Casimir Parish nearly seven years ago, we offered religious education through our Parish School of Religion (PSR) program. This starts in pre-school and goes through Confirmation in the eighth grade.

Parents who have children who should be receiving religious education are asked to contact Father Bacevice to register their children for the coming school year. By registering now, we can plan this year’s program to meet the needs of our children.

Parents: help us to help you provide religious education for your children by registering them for PSR classes. I look forward to hearing from you.

God Bless!   Fr. Joe Bacevice

MONTHLY EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Friday, August 4th, we will have our First Friday period of adoration in the Church from 8:00-9:00am. We will not be able to have our Wednesday devotion this month. It will resume in September.

MISSION APPEAL

On the weekend of August 5-6, Rev. Fernando Caindec, from the Diocese of Sorsogon, Philippines, will be here on a Missionary Appeal for his diocese. He will preach at all the Masses about the work of his diocese and their unique needs and to ask for your support through prayer and material support. Please be generous with both.

ACCESS TO THE LOWER HALL

Until Monday, August 7th, access to our lower hall will be ONLY from the Marcella Road entrance. Construction going on in the old cloak room, Youth Room, and old shower room will close off that area of the school building. This will primarily affect those who go to Sunday Coffee after the 10:00 Mass. This is being done for the safety of everyone who goes into the building.
