ROOTED IN FAITH

We are happy to report that we received our quarterly distribution of our Rooted in Faith funds. The amount received was $1,196, which brings the total we received to $57,754.00. The total amount we raised was $247,413.00.  This is also a reminder to all those who still owe on their pledges to make their quarterly payment. We thank all who contributed to this capital campaign in our diocese which goes a long way to assure financial stability of our diocese into the future.

PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN

The Diocese of Cleveland’s “Protecting God’s Children” program is vigilant in its efforts to raise awareness and protect children from sexual abuse. To report any past or present suspected inappropriate behavior toward children by priests, deacons, religious, lay ecclesial ministers, or personnel associated in any way with the Church, contact local civil authorities and the Diocesan Response Services email: response_services@dioceseofcleveland.org or  phone:

Dear Friends,

I really feel so blessed after reading all the beautiful letters everyone wrote. Some of them  made me cry, some made me laugh and others made me reflect on my life. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to do such a wonderful act of kindness. I am very excited to begin the next chapter of my life. I know I will see many of you again when I come back for some parish events. I will leave you with this joke that someone wrote to me:
Question: What do you call people who are happy on Mondays?
    Answer: "RETIRED"

It seems that once August comes, we realize that summer is winding down and soon we will begin our Autumn - Winter - Spring activities. Our organizations have their regular activities and we have our parish-wide events. Every year we have special events when we have joint activities with others within our ethnic community, and this year we are working on the 100th Anniversary of Lithuanian Independence. We also have ongoing activities such as Eucharistic Adoration, pancake breakfasts, Sunday Coffee, and our annual Fall Raffle and clambake.

It is amazing to me that there are so few of us – 406 families, yet we do so much. There is still more that we should be doing, and I am confident that we will continue to do more. Since we opened as St. Casimir Parish in the autumn of 2009, our goal was to attract people who are commiteed to building up a unique parish, where everyone feel welcome and is invited to be involved in the life of he Parish.

I invite all of you to renew your commitment to St. Casimir parish. I invite all of you to give of your time, your talent, and your treasure to build up our parish. Also, I invite all of you to offer your thoughts and ideas on what we can do to become a better parish. If we work together, we will see our parish grown stronger and greater every day.

God Bless!   Fr. Joe Bacevice

MISSION APPEAL

On the weekend of August 5-6, Rev. Fernando Caindec, from the Diocese of Sorsogon, Philippines, will be here on a Missionary Appeal for his diocese. He will preach at all the Masses about the work of his diocese and their unique needs and to ask for your support through prayer and material support. Please be generous with both.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Our next Pancake Breakfast will be on Sunday, August 13th, from 8:30am to 1:30pm. Tickets are now available after the weekend Masses at the main entrance to the Church, in the lower hall after the 10:00 Mass and at the Rectory during the week. Adult tickets - $7, and children 12 and younger - $4. Save $1 by purchasing your tickets early. All proceeds benefit the parish.

ACCESS TO THE LOWER HALL

Until Monday, August 14th, access to our lower hall will be ONLY from the Marcella Road entrance.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

As the new school year approaches, parents are reminded that their children of grade school age should be receiving formal religious training, either in a Catholic school, or in a parish PSR program. Two years of Catholic instruction is required for First Communion, and Confirmation is administered in the eighth grade. Families with children who need to enroll in our PSR program, are asked to contact the parish office as soon as possible to register.
