EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
This
Wednesday, June 13,
from 6:00 to 7:00pm we will have our evening Eucharistic Adoration. We
invite everyone to come spend some quiet time in prayer.
HELPERS
NEEDED
We
are looking for a few good people to help keep our parish running smoothly.
We need additional ushers who can greet people when they come to Mass, take
up the weekly collection, and act as “first responders” when someone needs
help in Church. We hope to be able to provide first aid training for our
ushers and first responder. We’re looking for additional ushers for all the
Masses and hope to provide first aid training for them. If you are
interested in being a church usher, please contact Father Bacevice.

BALTIC COMMEMORATION
This Sunday, June 10th, at 2:00pm, at the Latvian Lutheran
Church (corner of Andrews Rd. & Detroit Ave.) in Lakewood, the Baltic
American Committee of Cleveland is sponsoring a prayer service to
commemorate the 77th anniversary of the occupation of the Baltic
States and to remember the victims of the mass deportations of June 13-14,
1941. There will be a social in their church hall after the service. We
invite everyone to join with our Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian

THE HORRORS OF WAR
This weekend we remember the 78th Anniversary of the Occupation
of the Baltic countries and the 77th Anniversary of the Mass
Deportations of the Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians from their native
homelands by the Soviet Union at the beginning of World War II.
There are very few left who remember first hand those tragic events.
However, there are many who remember stories from parents and grandparents who
witnessed these events and lived through them. As succeeding generations are
born, these events go further back in history and could very well be forgotten,
which would be a tragedy, not only for those who lost their lives or family
members, but for future generations who would never know the daily horrors of
war.
Those tragic events that began 78 years ago continued in the Soviet Union
until it broke apart just over 27 years ago. As we remember these events in the
past, we are reminded again to be vigilant as individuals and as nations, to
insure that these are not repeated in the future.
A prayer service remembering these events will take place this Sunday at
2:00pm at the Latvian Lutheran Church at the corner of Detroit Ave and Andrews
Rd, in Lakewood. All are invited to participate.
God
Bless ! Fr. Joe Bacevice

DEACON PECEK
On
Monday, June 4th, Deacon Pecek celebrated his 35th
Anniversary as a Deacon. In those 35 years, his wisdom and kindness has
impacted the lives of many people at St. Paul Parish in Euclid, here at St.
Casimir, and as a Judge in the Diocesan Tribunal. We will honor Deacon
Lou at the 12:00 noon Mass on Sunday, June 10th, followed by
an informal reception in our lower hall. All are invited to celebrate this
milestone for Deacon Pecek and thank him for his 35 years of service to the
Church.
SUNDAY COFFEE HOUR CHANGE
For the next two weeks (June 17
& 24), Sunday Coffee after the 10:00 Mass will be moved to the upper hall
(gym), and will be closed for the month of July.
This is because work will begin next week on converting some cafeteria space
into classrooms as the Intergenerational School continues to expand. When
coffee hour resumes in early August, the lower hall will be smaller. As
things continue to change in the school building, we will keep everyone
updated. |
