How do you like it here at St. Casimir’s? Are we doing a good job meeting your spiritual needs? What would you like to see changed? What brought you here in the first place and why do you stay? I want to hear from you. Write me a note, give me a call, sent me an email, or call and make an appointment to come in to talk.

At the end of October, we will celebrate our tenth anniversary as a parish. I think it is a good time to take a close look at ourselves and see how far we have come in ten years and plan our future for the next ten years.

What do you like about the parish, and what would you like to see changed? When the Pastoral Council returns in August, I would like some information to give them some guidance as they continue to plan our future.

Let us work together to develop a plan rather than react when we are forced to make an immediate decision.

God Bless! Fr. Joe Bacevice

PICNIC FOR PARISHIONERS

The Holy Name Society is pleased to announce that the Annual Picnic for Parishioners will take place on Wednesday, July 31, from 5-8pm at the East Shore Park Club, at the corner of East Park and Dorchester Dr., on the shores of Lake Erie. Hot dogs, burgers, snacks and soft drinks will be served. There is no cost for the picnic as the Holy Name Society underwrites the entire cost. This is a good way to meet fellow parishioners and learn about the Holy Name Society. We look forward to seeing you.

SUNDAY COFFEE

During the month of July, there will be no coffee served after the 10:00 Mass. This gives our coffee hosts and hostesses a break during the warm summer days ahead.

50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION MASS

This year’s Jubilee Mass with Bishop Perez is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, at 10:00am. Online registration is now available. For more information contact Laura at the Rectory office or contact Jason Lewis at jrlewis@ccdocle.org or call 216-334-3974.

PLEASE HELP

Birthright is a pregnancy service that helps pregnant woman and new mothers. We are currently seeking volunteers for our Eastside location to answer telephones, make up infant layettes and help women find community resources. No experience is necessary and training is provided. If you are interested in helping us help the women and babies of our community, please call Toni Sabo at 216-486-2800 for more information.

TAKE AM 1260 THE ROCK ON THE ROAD

Download the AM 1260 The Rock app to keep you connected to your Catholic faith on vacation. Looking for Sunday Mass while traveling? Visit www.masstimes.org for a list of parishes and Mass times nearby. Visit www.am1260therock to pray our prayer for a safe journey.

FAMILY PERSPECTIVES

Today’s scripture readings challenge us to think about who our neighbor is. This includes the lonely person next door and the elderly widow down the street. It also includes the demanding child, the rebellious teenager, the withdrawn spouse or the difficult in-law. Let’s include those with whom we live and are related to as “neighbors.” Treat them with the “Gospel Good Neighbor Policy” of unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion. And then, watch the results.

THE FEST

Every year after The FEST we receive dozens of emails from individuals telling us how much they enjoyed our annual Catholic Family Festival and how it was the ‘highlight’ of their summer. Don’t miss out on Sunday, August 4th as we come together for The FEST from 12:00 until 10:00pm at the Center for Pastoral Leadership in Wickliffe.

Come hear great music from Jordan Feliz, Tenth Avenue North, Matt Maher, and Casting Clowns along with great activities and displays for the entire family. There is plenty of free parking and affordable food (thanks to Executive Caterers and Marc’s). It’s all FREE. Go to www.TheFEST.us for details, parking instruction, and a complete schedule of the day. Invite EVERYONE you know to join you at The FEST! There’s something for every age and generation at The FEST!
