NO SUNDAY COFFEE
All are reminded that there
will be no coffee hour after the 10:00 Mass during the entire month of
July. Coffee will resume in early August.
THE FEST
Every
year after The FEST we receive many emails from individuals telling us how
much they enjoyed the annual Catholic Family Festival and how it was the
highlight of their summer. Don’t miss out on Sunday, August 5th
as we come together for The FEST from 12:00 to 10:00 at the Center for
Pastoral Leadership (28700
Euclid Ave, Wickliffe).
Join thousands from around our region for a day of faith, family and
great fun. It is all free. Listen to inspiring music, visit
activities for kids and displays to help you strengthen your family life and
so much more. There is plenty of free close parking. There is plenty of
affordable food thanks to Executive Caterers and Marc’s. There is something
for everyone at the FEST. The day concludes with a beautiful outdoor Mass at
8:00pm followed by an incredible American Fireworks display. Check out the
details online at
www.theFEST.us
Please join us.
PLEASE HELP
Birthright is a
pregnancy service that helps pregnant woman and new mothers. We are
currently seeking volunteers for our Eastside location to answer telephones,
make up infant layettes and help women find community resources. No
experience is necessary and training is provided. If you are interested in
helping us help the women and babies of our community, please call Toni Sabo
at 216-486-2800 for more information.
RETROUVAILLE
Has
your marriage become unloving or uncaring – your relationship cold, distant
– thinking about a separation or divorce? Are you already separated/divorced
but both of you want to try again? Then the Retrouvaille program may
help. Retrouvaille, which means rediscovery, is supported by the
Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, but is open to couples of all faiths. This
program consists of a weekend experience for couples and six follow up
sessions. The next Retrouvaille weekend is September 14-16. For more
information or to register, contact Marc or Liz Gliha at 440-357-6580 or go

It’s hard to believe that in a few weeks many of our children will be
returning to school. For me, it’s a time to plan our religious education program
for the coming year.
Parents really are the first teachers of their children and are the best
teachers of their children. Faith and values are taught in the home from the an
early age. Children learn these primarily by imitating their parents’ faith and
values.
As they begin school, children should be receiving formal religious
education. Those who send their children to Catholic school receive religious
education as part of the school’s curriculum, but those attending non-Catholic
schools should be receiving their religious education through their parish.
Since we opened as St. Casimir Parish, we have offered religious education
through our Parish School of Religion (PSR) program. This starts in pre-school
and goes through studies for Confirmation in the eighth grade. In order for
children to receive their First Communion, they are required to have two years
of religious education. For children to be confirmed, they must have one year of
special classes specifically for Confirmation.
Parents who have children who should be receiving religious education are
asked to contact Father Bacevice to register their children for the coming
school year. By registering now, we can plan this year’s program to meet the
needs of our children.
Parents: help us to help you provide religious education for your children
by registering them for PSR classes here at St. Casimir’s.
God
Bless ! Fr. Joe Bacevice

PRISIMINKITE
MALDOJE
We
ask you to remember in your prayers the following who have died: Kimberly
Secriskey, Richard J. Frantz, and Deacon Frank Lozada. May they have eternal
rest in the peace of God’s kingdom.
PICNIC FOR PARISHIONERS
The
Holy Name Society is pleased to announce that this year’s Annual Picnic for
Parishioners will take place on Wednesday, July 25, from 5-8 pm for
the first time at the East Shore Park Club, at the corner of East
Park and Dorchester Dr., on the shores of Lake Erie. Hot dogs, burgers,
snacks and soft drinks will be served. There is no cost for the picnic as
the Holy Name Society underwrites the entire cost. This is a good way to
meet fellow parishioners and learn about the Holy Name Society. We look
forward to seeing you there.
