THE OPENING
OF THE HOLY DOOR:
In the Church since the
15th Century, a
Holy Door has been used as a
ritual expression of
conversion during Jubilee
Years. Those who traveled to
a cathedral or a basilica or
a designated church for
reconciliation entered
through the Holy Door,
crossing the threshold from
sin to grace, from slavery
to freedom and from darkness
to light. The Holy Door is a
tangible symbol and
invitation to follow Christ,
leaving sin behind and
crossing the threshold into
the light of Grace.
The opening of
the Holy Doors of Mercy for
the Diocese will take place
at St. John’s Cathedral at
10:15am
on Sunday,
December 13th,
just prior to the
10:30
Mass. The faithful
will be welcomed to come and
cross over the threshold to
experience God’s mercy.
Bishop Lennon is encouraging
at least two or three of the
faithful from each parish to
be in attendance
representing a gathering of
the entire diocese at this
Mass. Parking will be
available at the Cathedral
surface lot (enter off
Superior Ave), and the
Rockwell Avenue parking
garage. Please let me know
if you plan on attending.
God Bless! Fr. Joe Bacevice

specific time to be in church, please sign up on the sheet
at the main entrance to the Church.
CLUSTER PENANCE SERVICE
We
invite everyone to attend the Annual Collinwood Custer
Advent Penance Service next
Monday, December 14th
at 7:00pm here at St. Casimir’s. Priests for our
cluster parishes will be available for individual
confessions during the prayer service. Come and join us for
this opportunity to reflect on our lives and prepare for the
coming of Christ into our hearts through this sacrament.
CHRISTMAS WAFERS
Traditional Christmas Wafers are available at
the main entrance to the Church at Mass times, in the lower
hall after the 10:00 Mass and at the Rectory during the
week. We encourage everyone in the Parish to participate in
this ancient Eastern European tradition.

across the country to assist our retired religious Sisters,
Brothers, and Priests with their needs in retirement. Our

YEAR END GIVING
In
this season for giving, consider making a year-end gift to
our parish in gratitude for all the blessings you have
received in life. As you plan to make the most of your
charitable donations in 2015, know that we gratefully
accepts gifts of cash and appreciated assets such as stocks
or bonds. If you are over 70˝, you may want to consider a
gift from your IRA or retirement plan. Call your retirement
plan administrator for more information and to inquire about
possible income tax benefits available for this year. If you
have any questions, contact your tax advisor or Fr.
Bacevice.
