November 25 - 26, 2017

THANK YOU AGAIN:

Thank you for your contributions to the Collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD). Your generous gifts will help them end poverty in America through better education, improved housing and economic development. Through CCHD and its beneficiaries, we manifest Catholic social teaching and carry out Jesus’ mission to “bring glad tidings to the poor... to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free.” (Luke 4:18)

PERPETUAL HELP IN THE KITCHEN – A GREAT GIFT!

Our parish cookbook, “Perpetual Help in the Kitchen, 2017” edition would make a great gift for someone special. The books are available at the Rectory during the week and can be ordered and picked up after the weekend Masses. The price is $25. We can also ship them for a small fee. For more information, call the parish office during regular business hours or reach us by email: laura@saintcasimirparish.org

GIVING TREE

Our Holy Name Society is again sponsoring a Giving Tree to assist families in our own Parish who are in need of “a little help” at Christmas. The items on the ornaments are various gift and food cards. Simply choose an ornament, purchase the gift card, and return it either in the collection basket, at the Rectory or give them to any member of the Holy Name Society by December 10th. They will be distributed to the families before Christmas.

RETROUVAILLE

Retrouvaille is a three-month program to help couples struggling in their marriages. It has three phases, starting with a weekend experience in which couples learn to re-establish communication and to gain new insights into themselves as individuals and as a couple. Post sessions are held over a period of 12 weeks to further develop and enhance the techniques learned on the weekend. A support group is available offering interaction with other couples who are striving to improve their relationship. The 2018 weekends scheduled are: January 19-21, April 13-15 and September 21-23. See their website www.helpourmarriage.com for more information and registration or email Marc & Liz Gliha at 3031@retrouvaille.org

COFFEE SCHEDULE

The 2018 10:00 Mass Coffee Schedule is being prepared. We invite all organizations and parish families to host these coffee socials. We are always looking for new people to serve as hosts. The parish provides the coffee and supplies; you need only to bring the baked goods, put on the coffee, be a good host, and clean up afterward.
To volunteer contact Dalia Armonas (jarmonas@sbcglobal.net)

FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK

We recently revived our parish Facebook page and are updating it at least weekly. Find out what is going on in the parish by liking us on Facebook.

At this time of year, we are in what is known as the “holiday season.” Thanksgiving was last Thursday, and in a few weeks we will celebrate Christmas. It is a beautiful time of the year, but for many of our older members it can be a difficult time of the year.

As pastor of our Parish, I am concerned about he welfare of our older members. With the weather turning colder, and snow being a part of the weather forecast for the next four months, I worry about our older members’ safety. The cold weather can be dangerous as snow and icy conditions can make getting out of the house dangerous. I urge all our seniors and those with “mobility issues” to be very careful when outside. When the weather is threatening, it is better to be safe inside rather than trying to go out. We do what we can to keep our property open and safe. But please be careful in the parking lots and when coming intot he Church or the Hall.

I also worry about our seniors’ isolation. Many are widows and widowers who often find themselves alone. So I ask our younger members to look in on our older members, offer assistance to those who need it, or just be a friend to someone who is alone.

Also, for those who can’t come to Church during the winter months, contact the Church office to schedule a time when I can come to visit with the sacraments. I try to visit every month, usually on the First Friday. I want everyone to be safe this winter season.
                                                                  God Bless!

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Friday of this week, December 1st is the First Friday of December.  We will have our monthly Eucharistic Holy Hour from 8-9am.  Our evening Adoration will be on Wednesday, December 13th from 6-7pm. We invite everyone to spend some time in quiet prayer before our Eucharistic Lord. If you are able to commit to a specific time for adoration, please sign up in the Book Room.

THANK YOU

We thank all who came down to our lower hall to enjoy the pancake breakfast held a few weeks ago. There were 104 who purchased breakfasts. After expenses, $499 was raised for the parish.  Special thanks to those who set up, cleaned up, and cooked for this fund raiser.  God Bless all of you.
