CHRISTMAS COFFEE SOCIAL

Sunday, December 31, everyone is invited to participate in a family-style Coffee Social after 10:00 Mass. All parish families are invited to bring a plate of Christmas cookies to the lower hall. It will be an opportunity to share the Christmas spirit (and your goodies) with your fellow parishioners.

CHRISTMAS WAFERS and 2018 CALENDARS

Traditional Christmas Wafers are available at the main entrance to the Church at Mass times, in the lower hall after the 10:00 Mass and at the Rectory during the week. Please use the special envelopes provided; the suggested donation for each wafer is $1.

Our 2018 Church calendars are available on the tables in the main lobby of the Church. We thank our friends and fellow parishioners at the Jakubs Funeral Home for providing them again this year.

GIVING TREE THANK YOU

Our Holy Name thanks everyone who contributed to make our Giving Tree a success. A total of $3,265.00 in gift cards and cash was donated, which amounts to $1,200 more than in 2016. With these funds we were able to help 14 families (37 people) in our parish with food cards and the needy people served by the ministry of the Sisters of Notre Dame. God Bless You!

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Our next pancake breakfast will be on Sunday, January 14, after all the Masses. We invite everyone to enjoy the best pancakes in the area. Tickets will go on sale next weekend. Adult tickets at the door cost $7, children 6-13 cost $4. Save $1 by purchasing your tickets in advance. All proceeds go to the parish.

Merry Christmas to all! Monday we celebrate the birth of our Savior. For most of us, this day will be filled with tradition, remembering our own childhood and marveling at the wonder we see in the eyes of the children in our own families. But more than tradition, Christmas is a celebration of life - our own lives, the lives we are living today. The message of the angels – “Today a savior has been born to you...” reminds all of us of God’s presence in our lives.

May the Peace and Joy that this great Feast signifies be with you this Christmas Day and every day of your lives. In the name of our staff, employees and volunteers who do so much for us, I wish all of you a very Holy and Peaceful Christmas

                                                                  God Bless!

PLEASE PRAY

Remember in your prayers Mary Testa, who has died this week and was buried from our parish: . May he have eternal rest in God’s kingdom.

YOUR CHRISTMAS OFFERING

Christmas is a traditional time for people to make an extra offering to the Church. As you consider your Christmas offering to Saint Casimir’s, I ask you to consider the place our Parish has in your heart. For most, our Parish is more than just a place to go to Church on Sundays. It is where we go in times of joy and grief, in times of hope and despair, and in times of healing. We all know that winter is the most expensive time of the year and as a parish, we face many challenges. So we ask that everyone make an extra effort to give a substantial offering this Christmas, because it is only because of your generous support that we can continue our work.

NEW YEAR’S MASS

Monday, January 1st, is the Feast of Mary Mother of God. Because this feast falls on Monday this year, the obligation to participate at Mass is abrogated.
Mass will be celebrated on January 1st at 11:00am.

PERPETUAL HELP IN THE KITCHEN – A GREAT GIFT!

Our parish cookbook, “Perpetual Help in the Kitchen, 2017” edition would make a great gift for someone special. The books are available at the Rectory during the week and can be ordered and picked up after the weekend Masses. The price is $25. We can also ship them for a small fee. For more information, call the parish office during regular business hours or reach us by email: laura@saintcasimirparish.org
